Commemorative Marker set in a high stone wall on the southeast side of the A3098 Styles Hill, Easthill. Frome parish. Inscribed THIS HILL / WAS LOWERED / 7 (OCT) 1861. (From Historic England) Styles Hill became a turnpike in about 1830 but since it was too steep a deeper cutting was made in 1861 and the revetment with its commemorative tablet was constructed.
