When photographed in July 1980 the pub name, 'The Fox', was still clearly discernible in relief in the finish applied to the stonework. Other lettering is less clear but the word retailer can be picked out below the word Fox. The coating of the building was removed years ago and in Ian's photograph from 2015 a good deal of gentrification can be seen - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4724270.
