The White Lion, an 18th century former coaching inn, has been derelict for about seven years and is in a decrepit condition with the car park surrounded by Heras fencing. Before closure it was well known for its carveries and offered guest accommodation. But all may not be lost; the pub was purchased by the villagers in November 2019 with a view to running it as a community local. No doubt the Covid-19 crisis has stymied the plans in the short term but it is to be hoped that a new lease of life is possible. See Image for the same scene in happier times.
