The Almshouses, Dunchurch

The original almshouses in Dunchurch Square were built in 1693 after Thomas Newcombe, printer to Charles II, James II and William III, left £600 in his will for building of an almshouse, and the maintenance of six poor men or widows. They were rebuilt in brick in 1818 and the porches were added later. They were further extended in 1949.
