This road is part of the A23 trunk. It never sleeps. Here a Leyland Olympian double-decker is seen southbound on Route 166, which at that time ran from Shirlsy (Monks Orchard Road) to Chipstead Valley ('Mid Day Sun'). The Olympians, which by 2008 have all been withdrawn, were the last in a long series of Leyland buses which have served the capital over the years.
