Fifteen years on from the explosion, Buncefield is back as a functioning oil storage depot. These two tanks are on the north side of Three Cherry Trees Lane. The one on the left is new since the explosion. A tank certainly existed in the location of the one on the right at the time of the explosion, but the contributor does not know if this is a replacement. The contributor thinks that these tanks belong to the British Pipeline Agency. At the time this photograph was taken the photographer was standing very close to what is thought to have been the initial explosion ignition location at the emergency pump house on the other side of the road to the right. Strictly speaking these two tanks are actually in the St Albans local government area, rather than the Dacorum one, as the boundary runs down the middle of the lane.
