As it was then, the premier national exhibition centre at Earls Court, London, on this occasion hosting the 1955 Radio Show. Many names familiar to those of us who grew up with them are on display, with radio still dominant despite the reemergence of national television broadcasting after the war. They included the fledgling commercial company ITV that actually commenced broadcasting for the first time that year. Some of the names are more familiar than others, but where are they now? Ekco, Marconiphone, Collaro, Alba, Ultra, Regentone, Vidor, English Electric, Bush, Pye, Murphy, Philips, McMichael.
