The yellow post indicates that this stretch of the former Rugby - Leicester railway is now a public footpath. Access is available here via a slope leading down from Fairway Meadows. The railway opened in 1840 and was closed from 1st January 1962 - unlike many lines freight traffic did not outlast the passenger service.
