Travelling downstream, you are now about to reach The Square. This means you have about ½ mile to go before you reach the seafront and, if you started at the very top of the Gardens, you have completed around 1½ miles. This is also, therefore, roughly the point where unspoilt, peaceful gardens become the more formal, more busy section.
