One of the many large villas to be seen around here in an area of Victorian and Edwardian commuter development made possible by the Great Western Railway. Turrets, balconies, cupolas, fancy woodwork and other architectural extravagances adorn these prosperous residences. This house has the date 1889 on a stone above the nearest window.
