Dating back to 1800 and a cloth mill by 1808 this water powered mill later became a flock and shoddy (waste textiles) mill. It is now owned by Ruskin College and has been heavily rebuilt. It is only half its original length and the gable end with a bell is a new construction. The former mill pond is used for fish farming. Despite its reconstruction, it still retains an industrial feel and adds to the ambience of its setting.
