Surveyed by the Milestone Society. Tollbar Cottage, Kirkchrist is at the junction with the B727. The lane through Kirkchrist connects what is now the A755 and the B727, two routes to Gatehouse of Fleet from Kirkcudbright. An ideal position to 'catch' travellers and drovers trying to evade paying tolls by taking the slightly longer route.
