This is a large complex of former cotton Mills on Lever Street, Bolton. They are now in multiple occupancy. Out of sight to the left is an older brick building of 1845 with a 1925 extension with a distinctive architectural style. The engine house projecting on the left is also a more modern extension, presumably replacing an internal engine (almost certainly a beam engine) with a more modern horizontal engine. The wall to the left was once an internal wall before being revealed by demolition. The large arched door and window is where the engine would have been put through for erection and taken out for scrapping. The RSJs may be a legacy of that process.
