This large cartoon portrait of Mr Johnson was created by “Hammo” (Nick Hamilton) who is a freelance illustrator and mural painter based in Manchester. His distinctive mural work can be seen in various offices, bars and public spaces across Manchester (eg http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=124670220&displayclass=spelling ). It is displayed outside the Bay Horse Tavern in Thomas Street. There is a similar portrait of the city’s mayor, Andy Burnham, nearby with the slogan “feel the burn” (Image).
