At the top of the sign is a representation of an American B17 Fortress bomber recalling the Wartime history and the friendly invasion. It represents the 100 Bomb Group Museum which is located in the old Control Tower. The little canopy is the village pump shelter complete with pump, and of course the church of All Saints. The wavy green strip represents the marsh and the blue line the River Waveney to the south. The sign was unveiled in 1992, by the President of the 100 Bomb Group Association in remembrance of 50 years of friendship. Below the name is the emblem of the United States 8th Air Force. The village Hall can be seen in the background. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6686813
