Low Green is a small area of mainly older stone buildings just off the A65. None of them are nationally listed but Low Green has its own conservation area, and the appraisal document available online describes it as "a historic settlement with evidence of occupation from the 17th century to the present day". This building, founded in 1832 and extended in 1898, was a Friends (Quaker) school. The school closed in the 1920s and the building is now in commercial use.
