On the A955 in Coaltown of Wemyss this stone is on the south side of the road near the Post Office. It is the usual shape and size of many of the capped milestones in Fife although it has lost its metal cap. But it may have been removed from NT 3244 958 outside the Wemyss School of Needlework. The bench mark on the left face and small hole at the top of the right face are as on the 1983 black & white photograph.
