In the background the tower of the church of All Saints. An idyllic scene with animals grazing and stooks of corn ready for collecting and threshing, the river depicted is no more than a stream except in wet winters. The plough is being pulled by a pair of yoked Oxen and in the ploughsoil, the name of the village in 1086 “Scelvangra”.
