Painted bright green, this bridge used to go over the old G.W.R. (Clevedon) branch line that went up to the station. The original line was laid by the Bristol and Exeter Railway in 1847 as a Brunel-specification broad gauge, but converted to standard width in 1879. The line closed in 1966. On the nearer stonework is a benchmark - see Image
