Following the public footpath linking the old and new parts of Haversham ought to provide a pleasant alternative to walking along the road. Instead, after crossing a stile, the walker is faced with this - in fact, the large scale map suggests that the path more or less follows the track across the centre of the field, but it is far from obvious.
