This would have been the station entrance, with the main station building to the left on this side of the tracks and a footbridge at the right of the photo, but the station closed to passengers in 1940 and no trace now remains. The track across the viaduct was singled at some time after closure, electrified c.1993 and this is now an access point for Network Rail contractors.
