The station entrance building dates from 1848 and is grade II listed (list entry 1326905). The architect was Sir William Tite, who designed the stations for the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway, and he used similar gothic designs to those at Windsor Image (source: Steven Parissien, The English Railway Station, 2014). It is on the up (southbound) side. The red phone box is separately listed grade II (1145021).
