The text below the sign explains that it is the Garter Banner of the 2nd Baron Cranworth, but doesn't explain the Grundisburgh connection. Bertram Gurdon, 2nd Baron Cranworth was the son of the Hon. Robert Brampton Gurdon, who was killed in action in Libya in July 1942, and whose family seat is Grundisburgh Hall. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4292899
