The great barn at Coggeshall stands as a lasting reminder of the once powerful Abbey; its pillars soaring to support a vast roof which spans the centuries. It was built to accommodate the tithes of the Abbey - its size baring witness to its wealth. This is one of the largest building of its kind in Europe, having stood here since the early 13th Century. Passed by on the Essex Way, and run by the National Trust.
