Looking towards the Old Parsonage, Haverdale

The view is from a rather difficult to follow footpath leading from the footbridge in Haverdale to Birks End - or rather, it is taken from an area of thistles and nettles which proved to be a bit lower down the hillside owing to the path being so difficult to follow... On the plus side, though, I'd just flushed a Jack Snipe which exploded from the thistles less than two metres from my feet - a new tick. The view takes in numerous valley-bottom fields with field barns dotted about which are characteristic of the dale, as well as what appears on the large scale map as the Old Parsonage, apparently formerly the ecclesiastic residence for an adjacent parish but more recently a guest house. It looks as though guests would need wellies if they took a walk in the adjoining field.
