On the left is Brick Factory (Mills) - four storey textile mill, obviously in brick and working by 1815. Powered by a 14 horsepower Boulton & Watt steam engine. Rebuilt in 1856 following a fire and still in commercial use. On the right is Castle Factory - The block with the attic windows is from 1828 and the other block is from 1836. Originally a textile mill with steam power but in 1894 sold for furniture storage and showrooms. Still in commercial use in 2012.
