Built circa 1941. Thirty years ago (1970s), when I used it, this was a decent local (run by Doris) but now it is "refurbished" they are more interested in food and football. This is a sign of the times; at least it is still open! Update November 2012: Now sports biased, four hand pumps for real ale, including Batham's, which is quite an achievement! Update. Refurbished 2022.
