The company was a major dealer in second hand commercial vehicles, especially buses, based in Glasgow but with this substantial depot near Preston. The two buses facing the camera had recently been withdrawn from service by local operator Ribble Motor Services. They are both of the Leyland PD2/3 type with Leyland lowbridge bodywork, new in 1948 and 1950 respectively, so had seen good service.
