Whilst Skinningrove still has something of the air of a fishing village, Carlin How is undoubtedly a steel town, with its rows of terraced houses in full view of Skinningrove Steelworks. Fewer of its residents still find work in the declining steel industry than in its heyday, but it still seems to be a vibrant small town.
