I have no idea what this was before the conversion. It is a fascinating idiosyncratic building that might have been a forge, a coach house, or a stables. it might be 19th century, it could even be 18th century. It is adjacent to the 18th century house (on the right) known as St. Heliers' and might be associated with that.
