A sign from a period when distributed power meant water under pressure in a pipe rather than electrons under a potential difference in a copper wire. Typical hydraulic power systems worked at 750 pounds per square inch and occasionally at 1150 psi (modern oil hydraulic systems works at thousands of pounds per square inch).
