Photographed 7 and 14 years on (see links below), the tree is indeed still yielding a good harvest. My personal knowledge is that the tree was quite tall and well spread 65 years ago so its present age is probably well over 100 years. One early summer in the 1950s someone lit some very slow burning and noxious waste by the tree's trunk and over that summer the tree lost all its leaves. The tree was feared dead, but the next spring leaves re-appeared and the tree was and still is healthy again. Image] Image]
