Information from the plaques: Top: Design on a Roman belt discovered in a burial ground near Girton College. Centre: Based on the coat of arms of the Cotton family, Anne-Maria Cotton endowed the first Girton village school. Geese kept at Wash Pit provided quills used for writing in the University of Cambridge. Below: Corn Marigolds once common in the village.
