William Sanders was for in the Royal Artillery achieving the rank of Sergeant Major, then spent 15 years as drill instructor to the Lowestoft Artillery Volunteers. He died aged 50 in 1888. His headstone is adorned with a cannon. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6598395
