Dover District Council has made a scoping opinion notification for an EIA scoping request under application number DOV/20/00179 for a “proposed mixed use development”. The proposed development would be on both sides of Holt Street, as it would involve a small expansion of the community of Snowdown as well as refurbishment of the derelict colliery buildings. This is an area of scrub woodland, which is part of the site but not accessible to the public due to barbed-wire fencing (a few strands are visible in the left hand corner of the view).
