At its core, a 17th century timber framed house (a small part of the framing is still visible top-left, just behind the brick facade, and plenty more in the ground floor shop unit) which was fronted in brick in the 18th century. The whole building attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101176337-6-market-place-shifnal & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1176337 in 1955.
