The Rookeries (a small wood) is a Pontefract beauty spot, with lots of wildlife, and good views. This enormous field lies behind the Rookeries, with the remains of the old Ferrybridge power station in the distance. New estates are sprouting in local greenbelts - touch wood, this hasn't happened here - yet!
