Gatehouses to Langton Hall

I found this a rather unusual feature - two gatehouses either side of a public road. Located on the lane from Little Langton just before it terminates on the B6271 Northallerton/Richmond Road. I presume this once guarded the northern entrance to Langton Hall and its estates, that have since shrunk in size
