Mersey Docks and Harbour Board No.11 on the dock road (Regent Road) alongside Brocklebank Dock. Here the main line of the MDHB network ran outside the dock wall at the side of the main dock road. No.11 was built by Hunslet in 1940, works no.1985, when the MDHB needed more locomotives during WW2. The large building showing above the locomotive was a margarine factory; in the distance is the Tate and Lyle concrete sugar silo https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/471269 , now Listed Grade II*.
