Left: 8 The Square, Royal Bank of Scotland. Arthur George Sydney Mitchell, dated 1885. 2-storey and attic, 6-bay, rectangular-plan bank premises. Chlorite slate snecked rubble with contrasting stugged and polished red sandstone ashlar dressings, some raised margins. Part base course. Pedimented doorpiece with Gibbsian surround; pedimented windowheads; 1st floor windows to centre and right with moulded aprons and cills; stone mullions and chamfered arrises. Grade B listed. Listing number LB20857. Centre: Former Congregational Church Dated 1877; converted 1989, and 1999 by GAIA Architect of Aberfeldy. Gothic-detailed church with octagonal spire; 4-bay aisless nave; 3-stage tower and hall. Squared chlorite-slate rubble with contrasting sandstone ashlar dressings. Base and string courses. Hoodmoulds, raked cills and stone mullions; chamfered reveals to hall. Grade C listed. Listing number LB48870.
