The Hudson family grave at Scrayingham, which includes George Hudson [1800-1871] who was known as the Railway King due to his enthusiasm for financing and constructing railways, particularly those linking London, York and Edinburgh. Born in nearby Howsham, Hudson became a wealthy man and MP, but through some rather questionable dealings was eventually declared bankrupt and was forced to live abroad. One of his former residences was Baldersby Park Image near Topcliffe, now Queen Mary's School.
