Primrose Cottage, which is a Grade II Listed building, was built in the 17th century, with alterations being made in the late 19th century. It was formerly one of the two cottages built for Seaton Lodge, the lodge itself, which was described as Sir John Delaval's, "finest thatched house in the kingdom", stood a short distance north until demolished in the mid-1960s.
