Looking across the Stray to properties on Beech Grove, where elegant villas were built in the mid 19th century. By the mid 20th century some of these villas began to disappear and large apartment blocks were built in their place. In the centre of the photo is one of the original houses flanked by apartment blocks of the 1960's and 70's.
