Anxiously Waiting

Image: © Mary Rodgers Taken: 5 Aug 2020

An Invercairn statue to commemorate those who have lost their lives at sea in Cairnbulg. It is a poignant reminder the cost of putting fish on our plates. The statue depicts a mother and child anxiously waiting the return of a husband and father. I did love how it was placed next to some clothes poles which for me was a metaphor for 'life goes on' and families continue to manage life in harsh circumstances.
