Memorial to RAF Sgt. John Newton

John Newton was the younger son of Frederick and Fanny Newton and husband of Dorothy Newton Born April 1st 1919, he was killed when flying in a Beaufort II, AW371, “Q, Queenie” of 86 Sqdn. Coastal Command, out of RAF Wick in which he was the Observer crashed into the North Sea while on an extended South Stand patrol on May 28th 1942. Fellow crewmen who died with him were: Sgt. Stanley Rans ASHTON, + Sgt. Henry William HALL, + Sgt. John Kenneth KNIGHT. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6560634
