Memorial to USAAF Gosfield and the 410th BG(L)

The 410th Bombardment Group(L) flew four squadrons of Douglas B-26 Marauders. Opened in 1943, the station was used by both the RAF and USAAF as station 154. 8AF 365FG-flying three squadrons of Thunderbolts. When they left, 397BG-flying four squadrons of B-26 Marauders. Who in turn were replaced by 410BG(L) with four squadrons of Douglas A-20s. The airfield was closed down during February 1946. Plaque in detail https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6556734
