A sign on the gate there is a sign explaining the Nempnett Thrubwell Nexus. It says "there is a free-floating portal that many unaware foot travellers have encountered. You know you've been through it when a journey takes much longer than expected. Although it has not fixed location, it's frequently located near a pub."
