The entrance to the cemetery from Springburn Road comprises of impressive gates and gate piers dating from 1839. Behind them to the right is an Egypto-Greek style lodge. The cemetery opened in 1840. The entire cemetery is Category B listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33623.
