View from Carnbee Dell on the Carnbee housing estate looking towards the Northfield Hotel (currently closed during the Covid-19 pandemic). The hotel was originally built as a Victorian church manse and sits high on a rise. The site features mature trees and the slope is downward from the rear to Ellen's Glen (valley of the Stennis or Stenhouse Burn). A planning application was submitted in July 2020 to demolish the hotel and construct purpose-built student accommodation comprising over 100 studio apartments over five floors (including lower ground).
