The block of shops with flats above between Chapel Street and Summer Street with the spire of Gilcomston South Church (originally Gilcomston Free Church) towering over them. The B-listed church (LB20676: http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB20676 ) is of particular interest for its fine details and 'asymmetric' design as advocated by the Ecclesiological Society (http://ecclsoc.org/resources/publications/ ) when people passionately cared about such things...
